Community Guidelines
Contact: hello@usacolivingfinder.com
USA Coliving Finder exists so tenants can find well-run homes, and landlords can find the right people — directly, honestly, and safely. These guidelines apply to everyone who uses the site, on both sides.
Be honest
- Real names, real photos, real facts. Profiles and listings must describe real people and real homes. No stock photos presented as your own, no invented amenities, no prices that aren't the whole price.
- Say it plainly. Budget, move-in date, lifestyle, house rules — the clearer both sides are up front, the better every match works out.
- Keep availability current. If a room fills or your plans change, update your listing or profile.
Be respectful
- Treat messages like conversations with a future housemate or landlord — because that's what they are. No harassment, no pressure, no spam.
- A "no" is allowed. Landlords choose their applicants and tenants choose their homes. Either side may decline politely and move on.
- Respect privacy. Don't share someone's contact details, screening results, or conversation outside the site without their agreement.
Fair housing — no exceptions
- Listings, profiles, and messages must comply with fair-housing laws. No stating preferences or limitations based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, or disability — nor any category protected in your state or city.
- House rules can describe the home (quiet hours, cleanliness, smoke-free) — they can't describe the kind of person "wanted."
Stay safe
- Keep conversations and applications on the site until you've verified who you're talking to. Verification badges exist so both sides can check.
- Rent is always paid directly to your landlord — never to USA Coliving Finder, and never to a stranger before you've seen a home or signed an agreement. Never send money by wire, gift card, or crypto to hold a room.
- See the home first — in person or by a live virtual showing — before you commit.
Reporting — and what happens next
If something feels off — a listing that doesn't match reality, a message that crossed a line, a payment request that smells wrong — report it from the listing or conversation, or write to hello@usacolivingfinder.com. Reports go straight to the founder, and the other party always gets a chance to respond. Accounts and listings that break these guidelines can be removed.
